The Day
The ceremony starts on time, so please arrive about fifteen minutes early. Drinks follow, then dinner with speeches, and dancing until the light comes back.

Getting Here
The nearest airport is Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup (CPH). Trains run straight from the terminal.
- By air
- Fly into Copenhagen (CPH). The train station sits directly under the departures hall.
- By train
- Buy a ticket in the DSB app or at a machine. There are no barriers — Danish stations run on trust, but do buy one.
- By car
- There is parking at the venue. If you drive over the Øresund bridge, the toll is paid by card at the booth.

What happens at a Danish wedding
If you haven't been to one before, here is what's coming. None of it requires anything of you except staying up late.
Speeches. A lot of speeches.
Dinner runs long because it is full of speeches — parents, siblings, friends. Someone taps a glass and stands up. This will happen many times.
Songs to tunes you may not know
Guests write lyrics about the couple set to a familiar Danish melody, and sheets get handed round. Sing along regardless; nobody is listening to you specifically.
Banging and stamping means kissing
If guests bang the table, we have to kiss. If they stamp the floor, we have to kiss under the table. You are allowed to start this.
The bridal waltz at midnight
At exactly twelve we dance a waltz while everyone claps and closes a circle around us. Then the groom's socks get cut off. Yes, really.
It ends late
Very late. There's a second meal around two in the morning. Nobody leaves before the cake.
Dress code
Smart. A suit or a dress — Danes dress up properly for weddings, so do.
